Subject: Pocket Secretary Beta now out.. (finally!)
Date: Sun, 7 Dec 1997 15:28:51 -0700
(Most of this is snipped from the help file, because I think it says
everything important..)

If you remember over the summer, I was rumbling about making sort of an
'all-purpose' Shadowrun program. It's still in progress, but I've decided
to release this version so I can get some feedback, and so I can feel like
I'm making progress.

Any and all feedback and advice will be Greatly appreciated.

Pocket Secretary runs on Win95. Untested are WinNT and the Win98
Beta's (I'm not installing those until hell freezes over..)

Pocket Secretary does not run on Windows 3.1, sorry.

The install files are rather large, however, for future updates you
will only need to download the new .EXE file and any new databases,
so updates should all be under 200K

This version contains:

Shadowrun Dice Roller
LTG Number Generator
Location Databank
Matrix Text Styler
Currency Converter
External Program Executer

Future Versions will add:
NPC Database (In progress now)
Spellbook (Almost finished)
Campaign Tracker (When I figure out what it should do..)

Other Future Things:
More choices for some variables, like "districts". Likely a custom
way to add and remove your own.
Printing and writing to file will be added ASAP.
Making the databases more full featured -- deleting recordsets,
sorting, etc.
Re-designed Currency Converter and External Program Executer, to use
less space and memory.
A proper help file.

The Beta is accessible at http://www.interware.it/users/adamj/ps97
There is no link from my page to this area, since I don't really want
everyone and their dog downloading this less than spectacular beta,
however, some feedback (And I know you guys like giving feedback:) would be
excellent.

As for the campaign tracker: What sort of things do you GM's take notes of
while GM'ing? I know what I keep track of, but I would like to know a bit
more about what others find useful.
