Actually, I think that Immunity to Normal Weapons applies to all weapons
shy of magical ones: weapon foci, spells, or Killing Hands power, even in
melee.

What they're really doing is focusing their desire to destroy the spirit
via the weapon. Their skill has nothing to do with that, only their force
of will. And yeah, it's an iffy situation anyway.

I'd say the link a rigger has with the vehicle, given that it is so
intimate (read up on Williams' _Hardwired_ if you doubt this) should allow
one to focus Willpower through it the same as any other weapon. It feels
like you're there, which is enough for magic's purposes.

Yes, this does seem to overpower spirits a bit... Why fear Lone Star
bringing in the Citymasters and riot police when you've got a few spirits
on call?
