They prefer well camouflaged hosts. Good merges which can enter
human society un-noticed. Good merges require a host with multiple
WP successes, therefore high willpower. Also think of the novel 2XS
where they actively sought high WP individuals who survived the chip.

Why not ?
I've skimmed through the ED book Blood Wood and it says that the
Immortals were originally normal elves and used a magical ritual. As
far as I can tell the ritual strengthend their true pattern, similar
(ish) to their astral form. The strengthend true pattern keeps the
physical body the way it was at the time of the ritual. The mind and
soul are still free to develop, otherwise they would have stopped
learning. Therefore the soul (essence) can be infected and consumed.
Anybody else worried about this implication ?
And if FASA hadn't thought about this one already and uses it then
I'll regret the above discussion.
