dragons have enough power and willpower to successfully fend off a
"possession". They would make VERY powerful merges, especially if a good
merge is pulled off, but... I think the bugs probably know better than to
try most of the time...

Really evil run idea is forming...

Imagine if a good merge fleshform, or even a shaman, hires a runner team to
capture a young dragon (And I even have the young dragon in ind... My
platyers have met her before :)), so that hive can subdue and torture the
dragon down to the point where it couldn;t resist the possession...
Ewwww.....

I'm still not sure why FASA Chose to make the bugs go for Human hosts,
probably mostly to keep the horror factor up... After all, if the hive
will settle for a Puppy host instead of a human host, they cease to be
quite as nasty as they could be,,,

But I'd definately think that the bugs COULD use other animals... Tehy
just aren't preferred...
