It's never really bothered me all that much. Usually, it's been about
right, in my experience (although the fact that a PC can somehow survive
the occasional full-on missile strike is bit strange...). I've noticed
that others don't seem to think it's lethal enough more because the game
is nowhere near realistic in most cases. As a cinematic game, it's fine
as far as lethality goes. As a realistic game... ummm... If it's a
realistic game that you're looking for, you're probably playing the wrong
game:)

<<If it's too lethal, why do you think it's too lethal? Too easy to stage
up damage? Too hard to stage it down? Power too high?

If it's not lethal enough, again, why? Staging? Power? Damage Levels?

The general consensus I seem to get (here and on r.g.f.c) is that
Shadowrun isn't lethal enough. Either it's too easy for characters to
resist damage, or too hard to get it up to an appropriate level of
lethality.>>

I really thing it depends on exactly what you're looking for. If I were
looking for a wholly accurate, completely realistic gaming system, I
wouldn't play SR (well, not without serious tweaking:).
