Okay, first I'm going to adress B. Break out your copy of Awakenings
or Bug City. Is there somewhere should be the "Spider" totem.

Or, here's A:

Make up some famous Bughunter. Make sure he's a powerful shaman or
mage. Have him die on worldwide trid whaile fighting some powerful
bug. Have him give a little death speech about "AS I severrd the cause
in life, so shall I serve it in death." or "If you strike me down, I
shall become more powerful than you can ever imagine." Whatever you
like. Have lots of flashy special effects totalling at least 2,000,000
=Y= worth. Have the bug spirit destroyed. Give the area an aspected
background count that helps with anything anti-bug. Write up the
<insert name of bughunter here> totem. Give it bonuses against bugs,
the compulsice behavior of hunting bugs, and maybe some other disads
to make it more balanced. Keep in mind that hunting bugs ALL THE TIME
is basically commiting suicide, so you don't need THAT many
diads. Fend off any munchkins who want to become totems and then have
their next character be a shaman of that totem.
