I do the same, make certain that what the PCs can throw around, or deal
with, others can do the same. It's just that if constantly new things are
added, and things must be changed to counter them... SOTA, sure. I don't
need to be constantly adjusting things in my game. I do enough of that in
other ways. And I have other objections to a morphing masking ability,
'theoretical objections', if you will, that mean that I don't expect to see
it in the canon game soon.

Wow, do I get to say it now? There are no immortal elves in my games.
Dunkelzahn is not a political figure in my games. They don't fit with the
flavor. Powerful magic like teleportation, no (dissolving and reassembling
a living being? Ouch, the drain, IMO). I've read some ED stuff, and
played it, GMed it briefly. That doesn't mean I'll let it color my SR game
world just yet. That's where I'm coming from.
What works in one campaign will not necessarily work in most. Is your
campaign typical?
