Don't like the way SR handles skills... then this may be for you:

Alternate Skill Development Rules for SR

All skills are developed as concetrations (ie instead of buying Firearms,
you buy Pistols or SMGs). These are treated as the general skills (w/
1/2 a dot in between them). Cost = 75% cost to develop general skill.
You can still specialize as normal. Languages are unaffected, however,
Ettiqutte skills must be purchased as per an individual specialization
(ie Ettiquette [corp-Fuchi]) with specializations being indeividual
aspects or level of infrastructure (ie Ettiquette [corp-Fuchi
{mid-management/Executive/Security/etc...}]) most special skills, IMO,
were already at the concentration level (ie lockpicking) and so are
unaffected.

Well, whadya think? (I can't remember who had the orig greivances w/ the
karma costs of skills ... btw, where's the archive of posts, I went
looking for it once and couldn't find it ...)
