I consider that closer to a "fix" to a problem than a clean go
ahead. Wires should have always had a Reflex trigger built into the
hardware to begin with. In my games they always had. When Cybertechnology
came out we were annoyed that we now had to pay nuyen and essence for
something that was already being used in our campaigns. So basically they
had to alter the cyberware background (or was just ignorant of it) so
Reflex Triggers could even enter an existing game.

Ancient cultures believed that names held great power, personal names
more so and they were guarded very closely. To protect themselves, they
answered to another name, because if another discovered their real name,
it could be used against them.
History repeats itself.
