I actually created levels skates and related skills
Atletics/Skating/ Blades, quads, skateboard just because you can do one
does not mean you can the others nearly as well...
75 nuyen discount store recreational skates +1 TN
125 nuyen average quality recreational skates no TN modifiers
175 nuyen above average recreational skates -1 TN
250 nuyen high Quality recreational skates -2 TN
350 nuyen semi pro/ entry level competive skates -3 TN
500+ nuyen professional competion level skates -4 TN
Now comes the tricky bit skill vs skate quality...
You have to have a base atletics:skating of at least 2x the level of the
skates TN modifier in order to use the better skates... Otherwise those
TN modifiers not only don't exist they reverse.
IE someone with Atletics:Skating 1/3 could not use the top to grades of
skates they would not be able to control them. They just don't have the
skill to contoll the more sentive and faster reactions of better skates
