Works, hmmm. Not quite, Unless some revolution comes around and
Tamagochi's become ingrained into popular culture it's not a "real"
totem. Magic responds to belief in general and group belief more so. One
magician believing something doesn't mean its so. It could be a personal
cult totem which normally falls apart and fails the shaman due to inherit
inconsistencies. So yes, it can be done but with great repercussions.

more so and they were guarded very closely. To protect themselves, they
