Damn, your right (and the other two Posts I made actually touched on
topis related to SR (a quote, and a jewelry idea). :)

<g> OK, here's SR rules for peircing and tatoos-

A major body piercing (12 guage neadle / jewelry in the genitalia,
frex) generally causes 6l physical and 6m stun. Succeses from the
piercers test reduce the power by 1 per succces, add dice to healing
tests, and acuraccy of placement. Lesser peircings genrally only cause
light stun.
I actually had a character with a trauma damper who would do this for
the endorphin rush...

Tattooing, OTOH, causes same damage per hour of work. The damage can
be reduced (1 per 2 succeses- its harder to learn to do well), but good
tatooists also work faster, reducing time. Yes, 6 straight hours of
tatooing will MESS YOU UP (maybe not this bad, but week long tatooing
rituals done in Samoa can KILL the recipient).
Both skills are covered by the "body arts" concentration of biotech,
and are seperate specializations (desinging/ apllying an atractive tatoo
is a sperate artistic skill, as is knowledge of which peircings
"function" well.)

These damage amounts are a little extreme (but from my expewirience-
I'd avoid driving for an hour after either, due to dizzyness,and get a
ride home from a tatoo that takes more than 1 hour), but at least its on
topic now....
