There is a problem with using current science when it comes to SR magic --
namely, that the two don't fit together. I could also say that to cast
spells at (meta)humans, the Object Resistance Table should be used to
determine the TN, because humans are made from all kinds of different,
naturally-occurring substances. This would definitely give me a break when
casting Power Bolt at a troll, but that's munchkinous :)

Whether a seed is alive or not would have to be determined _magically_,
not scientifically. According to science, the seed is mostly just food,
and thus not alive. However, since a plant will grow out of it, is it dead
according to magic, too?
