I have often considered what the Postal Service would look like in the
Shadowrun timeline. I was thinking that they would have gone private, but
with the advent of the Matrix(tm) they would have shifted more towards
being a high level courier service. This would give a reasonable
explanation as to why your disgruntled worker is so good with firearms.
The Postal Office would, of course, have to do a hostile takeover of UPS to
ensure their dominance in the parcel shipping area of the business :). I
can think of more but it's late and I'm going to bed.
