They used what they thought were an engineered version of FAB, called
Strain III, which was an astral biowarfare agent that worked only on
astrally active creatures - mages, ghouls, insect spirits etcetera.
Now, I first encountered Strain III in the Threats book, where it is
clearly alluded that it is *NOT* what they think it is, but something
else entirely...
Theories that the cure might be worse than the disease abound - it
certainly hits indiscriminately.
I won't be surprised if the morale, a little down the line, will be
'DON'T USE BIOWARFARE!!!'. Considering all the problems possible
mutations of that bacteria can cause...right. I'd be very, very
cautious about staying in Chicago if I were me.
