Hmmm....that is an option, and I -believe- you are close on the terminology.
There is a really stupid option here though.

IF the body believes it is in the "growth" stages of early mitosis (okay, here
is where I am going to get lost), it will develop the beginning
organelles/organs that are required in it's patterning. If you
alter/manipulate the "stage belief" of the body, it develop said
organelle/organ. This is part of the idea behind "Harvester Clones" in not
just SR but in any system/medicine running loose today.

Basically, you "seed" the body into believing it is in those stages, have it
develop said organ, then harvest it at a different/later time frame. If the
"seeding" is performed in multiple time slots, you can actually have multiple
organs grown at the same time in this manner.

The trick is, this works best with -internal- organs, NOT with external
limbs/organs (like eyes, arms, etc.). The trick has also got inherent dangers
in certain organs, such as the Heart and the Brain/Brain Stem. Please note
however, that this -is- a method that potentially usable in growing any
organ/limb. It's just that in order for the body to adjust or continue
survival, it has to have the autonomic nervous system recognize it and decide
to actually "regulate the activity" of said organ/limb.

I also know that limb/organ placement during the seeding process does NOT have
to be normal. For instance, with the correct "seeding" it is possible to grow
eyes anywhere on a body, even in external/unprotected areas. Depending upon
the connectivity of the neural pathways, is whether the body in question is
actually able to use them or not.

This -can- create nightmarish creations, such as the -thing- that is pictured
in the earlier pages of the Shadowtech book (I forget the page reference).

I can imagine in SR's level of technology that such "seeding" is a viable
option for organ growth/limb replacement science, especially given the fact
that it would even be possible to have the "Harvester Body" do a lot of the
autonomic upkeep and nutrient dispersion of the organ(s) in question, just as
yours and my body(ies) perform their consistent upkeep of ourselves.

This would allow for the removal of the "nutrient solution bathes", which
detract from a given level of subject mobility. The pictures from the movie
"Coma" for some reason come to my mind. Layers/Rows of people asleep in their
"Coma", suspended by "proper supports" with only iv's connected to
them for
nutrient regulation.

DAMN this has some -really- nightmarish potential for usage in the games...
