With all this various conversation about "Godzilla", some questions come to my
mind about "Godjira", the actual mythological sea dragon that inspired the
names and movies. I sit back and think about the various mythologies that are
present there to look into, and for some reason, one thing keeps coming back
to me.

Then I apply some avid SR theoretics to the picture. What about an -ancient-
sea dragon (sans wings) who inspired the "Godjira" legends??? I mean come on,
let's be serious in a comedic sense (which is what "Godzilla" is, seriousness
with strange comedic twists). There could easily be such a "Great Dragon" in
SR's universe, and it makes me think that Ryumyo and Masaru are about to be up
to their eye-scales in trouble.

IF we applied SR mechanics into things, then the "Godzilla" of the most recent
movie, is suddenly NOT out of the picture. Dracoforms in SR are not, at least
so far, big dump and frumpy, in any measure. They are lean, vicious,
tactically minded monsters who literally overwhelm mid-size and smaller
forces. They are often fast, especially the Easterns and Feathered Serpents.

Hell, if we got right down to it, Godzilla in "either" of the americanized
versions didn't actually have "flame breath", he had a "tornado
blast". The
"Fire" came from igniting various inflammables by spark/incident. I've seen
the movie twice now, and it is something I was trying to pay attention too.
The second "flame blast" is more evident with this, especially if you pay
attention to the collision of the two cars in the mid-left screen (yes, I
notice details like this).

In SR, these mechanics are repeatable easily. Change elemental fire with
elemental air, and you replicate the effects that are listed. Now what would
be interesting is if you gave "Godjira" certain spell-like effects or even,
gasp, Sorcery, and things could get incredibly crazy.

All of those "Godzilla grabbing his tail and breathing flame breath for hours
straight to fly" tricks come to mind. Or even the "semi-empathy" of other
beings that it seemed to have with "someone important" throughout any of the
movies, save perhaps the very first one.

Oh no, everyone can say what they will, but I do agree, and apparently so did
Toho Corporation (think about that one for a few minutes), that the "New"
Godzilla was due his time. And there are going to be tons of different
emotions that come from this one as compared to the first.

If you didn't like, forget about it then, go see "Truman" (which looks
IMPRESSIVE) or even Armaggeddon (sp?). Hell, just wait until August and the
new "alienesque" movie comes out with Jamie Lee Curtis....
