Doing this process with a morula (the right word) might even be easier
because the thing
is is just itching to start tissue development :) . It would require a
nutrient
solution tough. It still has another advantage: The morula can't gain
self-awareness
and run away.
And now think about this: Say both of these methods would be used by
different corps
(Universal Omnitech clearly grows bioware from complete bodies). Say one
of the harvester clones
"wakes up", one that just happens to have a lot of bioware growing in
it, and some actually in
the right place. It runs away (you said it doesn't need a nutrient
bath), and the
runners must go after it, maybe because it has some prototypes (wich
caused it to
become self-aware). There's a movie with Christopher Lambert tha comes
to my mind... >)
