That is because you have so many folks who never actually
learned it the hardway, when there was no fancy editor, and you
had only vi and alittle imagination. You then throw in microsoft's
various products, which tend to butcher converted documents etc,
and you get illegible ugly code. These days you don't have to be
even computer literate to generate an HTML document.
