So maybe I was a bit short and unpleasant with my response. But what other
response could you rationally expect when someone tells me, "go away if you
don't like it"...even though I know that this list has been very enjoyable
and useful in the past? Pardon me for having such a high opinion of the list
and it's maintainers.

Encouraging people to unsubscribe would completely invalidate any potential
for either list to become useful in any manner. Let me phrase it this way...
"Wouldn't it be more useful to find a better way to stress-test the new list
than to make both lists essentially spam?"

I can only hope that "whomever" can get their DNS house in order soon and
you can do a mass switchover.
