I remember :) The thing is, when I started taking notes and jotting down
ideas for my part, I found out how little I really know about how
roleplaying actually works. Defining it is very fuzzy. I know how to
roleplay (and I think I do it well), but explaining it is a pain in the
tukus. Ditto with GMing and creating adventures.

Please forgive me for bowing out, but I've decided to take a different
track. I'm going to write gaming essays as they come to mind and post
them on my page. I don't expect to get it right in the first draft,
but I hope that 1-2 years of thoughtful and insightful editing will
produce something worthwhile :)

/ So now -- who has ideas for making a medium to large project about
/ Shadowrun with multiple authors to work in a semi-organized and not Snail
/ Slow manner? How should the project be planned? How should authors be
/ assigned? Should deadlines be made and how strictly should they be enforced?

IMHO, post submission guidelines on your web page. Update these
regularly in terms of what you're looking for. Periodically post a
reminder on ShadowRN. Set up the Newbie's Guide and add stuff as it
comes in. Periodically let people on ShadowRN know about it. On the
Newbie's page make it quite clear that you want suggestions for
existing articles and that you're willing to accept articles even if
someone has allready written about a subject.

Hopefully as it gets going people will drop by, have a look and be
inspired to write something. At the very least someone will send in a
short bit that you can add to an existing article, or post as a
submission request.

Let it build itself.

These messages were posted a long time ago on a mailing list far, far away.
