I always imagine these as items that take a while to replace the original
parts. They don't open your head, take out all the working parts, and put
them into a cyberskull, but rather remove a piece of your skull and
replace it with a piece of cyberskull, then remove the next piece, and so
on. This would still be a somewhat tricky operation, but nowhere near as
complicated as doing a skull transplant in the same way organs are
transplanted.
