A spoof film? Even though Casino Royale is directly adapted from the
very first James Bond novel written by Ian Flemming? I'll grant you
that Casino Royale wasn't put out by Albert R. Broccoli's & Harry
Saltzman's production company, but then again, neither was Never say
Never Again.
Films like Austin Powers are Bond spoofs, but Casino Royale, while
downright silly, _DOES_ focus around the exploits of a spy named James
Bond, License #007, serving on Her Majesty's Secret Service, and _IS_
based off of one of Ian Flemming's James Bond novels.
If sillyness is a disqualifying factor for what's a "real" Bond flick,
we'd have to cross most of the Roger Moore Bond films off the list
too, as they too are somewhat guilty of being spoofs of the more
serious Bond films. :)
