There's another way to do it. Don't refresh their karma pool as often
and after they've spent it all on frivolous lifestyle rolls, then they don't
have it when they're about to be minced by the Enormous Mincing
Machine (tm) :-)
However, it'd be kinda obvious if you changed the rules mid-campaign
that you were being Bastard GM.
