Correct.

Not a part-time hack, but one who specializes in throwing spells, as opposed
to dividing his/her time between spells and spirits.

Remember the quote in Awakenings (or Grimoire?), "I may not be able to do
everything, but no one's better than me at what I do."? Or something like
that...It's like specializing in a skill, you can do one thing better, but
you lessen your skill in other stuff.
