It's mentioned in Shadowbeat that "magic itself does not record worth a
hoot" (page 76). The results of magic can be recorded, provided they're
physical (non-mana spells, etc.) but the act of using magic cannot --
strap a simrig onto a spellcasting magician and it won't record anything
it wouldn't record if the magician wasn't casting a spell.
