>>1) Karma Pool. Is there a point where a PC gets too big a
>>pool to handle? I.E. they're always succeeding at tasks
>>that should be reasonably tough (TN 9-12). If so, how do
>>you deal with it?
>
>Yup. 10 karma pool and the PC is definitely a threat to game balance. 15
>and you have troubles. 20+ and you may as well go home...

I'd agree with Lady J here. At 10 the games starts to be disrupted.
As a GM, if a PC was getting too powerful rather than kill him
off I'd place him an a "Hand of God" situation. If he dies is then
totally up to him. If he lives then his karma pool is completely
depleted.

>>2) Karma Pool Again. Do you follow the rule that meta-
>>humans gain karma pool at half the rate as humans? If so,
>>do they start out with 2 karma pool, as in 2nd Ed.?

If playing by SR2 rules we will give meta's the 2 karma
pool to start with and use the SR:Comp rules for character
creation. If we are playing SR3 then meta's do start with
the same karma pool as humans but only get the 1 in 20
karma pool (permanent bad karma according to SR2 rules).

>>3) More Pooling Around. Do you even use the pool? I
>>know one group (probably more) that don't; instead they
>>burn good karma to do the same things as the pool would.
>

Man that's wacky. I couldn't live without my karma pool.
The last thing that I'd do would burn it permanently unless
I was facing one of those "hand of God" situations. How
do these characters advance their skills if they burn good
karma doing rerolls?

>>4) Just Plain Karma. How much do you typically give
>>out for runs that you make up (I recently bought Eye-
>>Witness and Double Exposure. The karma awards are
>>way out of line with what the GM section says you
>>should get)?
>

In a single session game that ran for about 10 hours
or so (a normal gaming session for us) I'd give anywhere
from 5-10 karma. 5 would be for average play and 10
would be for inspirational "we'll still talk about what you did
in years to come" type play. Needless to say most people
get around 5-6 per session.

>>6) Mmm....foooood..... What should I have for dinner
>>tonight? I was thinking of a Stroganoff type meal, with
>>broccoli, but I'm quite a bad cook.

Satay. Nothing will beat a damn good Satay.

>>8) Canada. Without looking at reference material, I.E.
>>anything at all, who's the current leader of our country,
>>and what's his title (don't cheat...this is a public awareness
>>poll...and no, I haven't a clue who the Australian Prime
>>Minister is)?

I don't know who the PM of Canada is nor do I care.
Two players in my group in Brisbane are actually Canadian
so I could ask them but I won't. If any of them asked me
who the Australian PM was and they were serious about it
I'd probably shoot them to protet their ignorance. We have
as Lady J pointed out the personification of 'small man's
syndrome' as our PM. He too fits the discription that I
previously gave Steve Irwin.....wanker.

For interest's sake one of my Canadian players has developed
the city of Toronto for Shadowrun and given it a huge amount
of detail. If you've ever looked for something a bit different to
Seattle then check out the SR3 Toronto hompage. It's at
http://home.quicknet.com.au/rowdy

>>9) Dice. How many dice do you usually take to a gaming
>>session? And do you take those multi-sided AD&D dice,
>>even though you know you won't need them?

At last count I take 66 d6's to a SR session. I always
use white dice for my skill dice and coloured for any
added pool dice. I strictly enforce this when I GM. I
like to know when people are using their pool. It also
allows me to see at a glance, without asking, just how
much combat pool dice a player has at any given time.

>>10) If you were covered in bugs, what kind of vegetable
>>would you be?
