According to Scott Wheelock, at 11:55 on 18 Feb 99, the word on
the street was...

> 1) Karma Pool. Is there a point where a PC gets too big a

That point depends on each individual game. In some games, PCs with Karma
Pools of 4 or 5 might be considered very powerful, while in others a KP of
20 only just allows them to survive.

There are numerous ways to prevent players from re-rolling every test they
can. A simple one is to only allow KP use in combat situations -- so no,
you can't use KP to get more successes on that Enchanting test to make
your power focus (10), or the Computer B/R test to program an MPCP-20.

You could also use a rule that says KP is _always_ lost when used, instead
of returning after the "scene" or game session is over. A slight variation
is to only refill KP after every adventure, which cuts down on the amount
of pool available during the adventure, especially if it's a long one.

Yes and no, respectively. Metahumans in my game get 1-in-20 Karma Pool,
and start off with 1 point.

> 3) More Pooling Around. Do you even use the pool? I

That's a first-edition rule they're probably still holding on to. It _is_
a way to reduce Karma usage, though IMHO it's a bit harsh -- back when I
played first edition, we hardly _ever_ used any Karma for re-rolling tests
unless it was a total necessity (like, when your character would die if
you didn't score a few more successes).

Anyway, yes, I use Karma Pool. The only such ting I've never used is the
second-edition Team Karma Pool, the idea of which I never liked.

For home-made runs, I use the guidelines from SRII and SR3 -- one for
survival, one for each mission objective, extra points for roleplaying,
humor, etc. Average awards for adventures are about 5 or 6 points, I
think.

Nope, I don't use that. 1 point for a thousand bucks is ludicrous -- my
group could have Good Karma in the hundreds that way... _If_ I'd use this,
I'd probably adjust the values to something like 1 point for 25,000 nuyen,
if not more than that.

Character turned into ghouls get to roll dice for their cyberware; the
number of dice depends on the type of 'ware (alpha-grade gets more than
standard, etc.) and the number of successes indicates how well the stuff
keeps working. If you're realy unlucky, all your cyberware will stop
functioning, while the best you can get (but not with standard-grade
cyberware) is that everything works fine.

Elisabeth II, with the title being "Queen"? (Although this is not someone
referred to as "his." At least, not usually :)

48 (4 packs of 12D6, in white, off-white, green, and black), and no.

Most likely a rotting one.
