I've recently made a character based partly on that chick from SnowCrash
and partly on friends of mine, oh and manga chicks too. :-)
Anyways, she's a self-styled ninja, BUT she's not a physad, or a physical
shaman... she's a plain old Tiger Shaman... furthermore, she's highly vain
and suffers from the distinctive style flaw. He centering skill is
breakdancing (yep, she starts a breakin' in da middle of a run), and though
she's japanese and human (from S.F. no less), she wears a huge 'Orkland
Raiders' jacket *everywhere*, and she likes showing off her abilities:
intellectual, magical, and physical.
In a current run she's been asked to make thermite (benefit of a corp
education is the fact that she has Chemistry 5 logically) and some other
explosives... I'll probably get her to make some fireworks, just for the
fuck of it (and to make things generally more choatic as the runners hit
WeaponsWorld).
I haven't decided on her hair colour, probably bright blue (to keep in line
with the fact that her first name is Rei - as in the character from Neon
Genesis Evangelion).
[There is more to her than this, but this is the appropriate bit].
>Personally I think that if played correctly
>it can be quite dangerous for a runner
>and certainly not worth the one build point
>that one gains from it. Thankfully that is
>no longer a problem in SR3.
I care less about the build point (I think I gave her ambidexterity so she
can run around with two Katana's liike the ninja-wannabe she is) than what
it means for her character. She suffers from one of those I
wannabe-but-I-can't-be dilemma's we all suffer from now and then. Its gonna
get her into trouble now and then, but that *is* the fun!
That's what Edges/Flaws are for... fleshing out characters, not merely
making them better.
She currently serves as the NPC magician for my current group cause I'm
GMing. :-( Anyhow, I'll probably write up profiles/backgrounds on all the
NPC characters I've done, cause they're fucking well fleshed out good.
care,
s.
