I saw it. Your point? Let's say I failed to see the humor in the remark,
since the whole thing implied I'm either lazy or stupid.

I heard it all the time. Often from teachers who didn't know as much about
a subject as I did; I was a bright kid back in my school days.

Since that's how it seemed to be intended, yep. Not your fault that it's
how I interpret things, but that is how I saw it. If you intended no
slight, then I'll drop it.
