Hey folks,

The voting for the new name for ShadowCreations is going well. I'll
probably keep the voting going over the weekend, then repost the names and
ask for anyone who hasn't voted to vote by next Wednesday.

Then I can spawn the new list, and we can get going on this project!

But, before we do that, I think it's probably more productive if we banter
about it a bit more on the list, so people know what's probably going to
happen on the list, and so I can write the early version of the FAQ to post
when the new list goes up.

As I've said before, this is a restart of the old ShadowCreations list,
which was working on the "Newbies Guide to Shadowrun". This book was to
have sections about the various character "types", character generation,
and that sort of thing. Shadowrun 3rd Edition covers these things slightly
better than SR2 did, but there's still lots of room for improvement and
expansion. (Although we need to keep in mind that Milk Run may cover some
of the things we are covering, so we have to be versatile and roll with
FASAs releases..)

Anyways, since alot of the people who seemed interested in the new project
don't appear to be people who were on the old list (Which is AFAIK dead, I
can't connect to the server it was run on..), here's a real brief outline
of some of the stuff that was planned on being covered in the first guide:

1. Timeline [TIME]
2. Character Generation [CG]
3. Rules Clarifications [RULES]
4. Roleplaying Guideline [RP]
5. Product Info [INFO]

What else needs to be covered for newbies? I think a section on GM'ing
(Pacing a campaign, being fair, etc) is a must. Perhaps also a "Finding
other people that play Shadowrun" article.

I can see this is quickly turning from a net.book to a co-operative website
where some of the material is edventually archived into a net.book format,
but that's cool with me.

Any thoughts?

BTW, if you haven't voted for a new name for the project yet, and you have
some interest in it, check out:
