I don't recall who started it because I joined the list at the tail end
(no pun intended ... yeah, right ;) of that thread. However, IIRC, I
started a similar conversation on IRC before I joined the list and
therefore before I saw the thread. (however, I think someone may have
prompted it somehow...)
