I had so many ideas pinging around from your post I kinda glossed
over some portions of what I sent..In my approach..the brain also
would be key..the astral critters would localize in the brain and
brainstem so channel energy into the host..Due to the more or less
random nature of the astral critters distribution it can cause some
of the remembered reactions from the movies..ANd massive trauma to
the brain drestroys the astra critters ability to function as a
colony and they die rather rapidly..Possibly trying to migrate to a
new host ...
