Now come on! How many people do you know who consider their car a
part of themselves? ;)

I agree with you, 100%. Maybe I should have used the word psyche?
What I meant, essentially, is anything that a person refuse to
function without, things that they think they can do without. Even
the most extreme car nuts I've known didn't feel *that* attached to
their cars. But you are right, there should be an expressed limit.
