Not that I really want to open this debate really untimely, but I would guess
what you are thinking of would actually be a "place" or "Metaplace",
not all
that unlike the Guinee (City of the Loa) concept intro'd in Awakenings. I
know we've considered "the Land of the Dead" as a Metaplace of sorts located
within the "Metaplanes of Man", as it is to "Mankind" that those
planes seem
to interest the most.
