I love the good old WHFRP, what pleasure did the rerelease to my sick brain!
Annyway, We here use it under special circumstances (aka the time is right,
movie-moves etc.) to accomplish a feat by burning one point out of the Karma
Pool. Note that this is no gurantee to actually succeed at the task but most
of the time it drastically changes the odds to your favor.
