From FASA? Easy- SR is a different story than BT.
From me? Magic users are worthless in space, but one they get
into a manasphere, they are ready to roll. (With some penalties
until they aclimate- spacelag.) I can see mechwarriors who are
mages, but spacecraft crewers being mages, not at all. Maybe if
they need cash really, really bad, but they would probably have an
"empty" feeling in thier brain. >>
According to the Fasa official story, isn't magic supposed to only return
every five thousand years? Maybe in a thousand years, the magic has dropped
out of sight again. Of course, I believe Harlequin's Back stated that the
Horrors weren't coming for another 2,500 years or something, so this might not
be a perfect answer. Still, it'd be easier than trying to merge magicians
into the BattleTech game.
