Oh wow, now this *IS* an interesting twist. Hell, I've even got a really good
place for this little playground to happen...(no names...just some letters....
;-P)

I do believe I get the idea. And then the "Tuning" could literally be an
effect similar to the "Resonance" actually moving into *ONE* particular
character, which in turn could change everyone's life. For lack of better
terms, the "Strangers" (with "Mr. Book" at their head) is actually a
bunch of
you-know-who's lackey's running around collecting people, attempting to find
out something.
In the movie, the idea was to merge with "the Human Soul" or something
similar. That sounds like a really good goal for newborn, annoying, self-
diefying, AI's to me...
