A thread on this topic ran for a short while in September last year. I don't
know if anyone compiled a list from the posts.

Both. That seems to us to reflect the real world skills people have. Some are
very useful, some aren't. Also, our characters have mostly low level knowledge
skills (ratings 1 or 2) and only a few at higher level. We feel this sort of
reflects reality. Some examples are Physiology (Elves), Jewish History, Seatle
Geography, (Meta)human Pleasure Centres, Tobacconist, Academia Politics,
Legendary Arcana, etc.
