"Relatively" unarmored? If they have ANY armor at all (including
dermal "armor" that raises body), the extra damage level from flechetes is
negated. So you are at 12S- still good. But critter armor is ballistic
and impact, and flechetes go against ballistic, or twice impact, whichever
is higher. So the critter is going to get getting twice its normal armor
against your flechettes.
In the end, you might do better with a nice sub-machine gun. Not that
most critters don't die from guns really easily, anyhow; with a skill of
5, a character I played once killed a leviathan with one shot from a
Manhunter. Of course, I had to wait until it was almost ready eat me to
get that close range shot, and hold on while it tried to capsize our
boat... Ok, so that was one lucky dwarf. But the gun was nothing special,
just smartlinked, although I did aim and use all my CP.
