Seriously, no flame here, just one small point I haven't seen mentioned
yet. I, also, consider myself to be orthographicaly impaired, and my older
PINE mailer doesn't have a spell check. However, I do reread the messages
I send for spelling and grammer. Not only, does this allow me to catch a
lot of the errors, it allows me to think about what I wrote and
determine if it will be clear to the people who will read it. Finally, by
re-reading I find the slang I used and usually choose to replace it. I am
a native English speaker, however, many members of this list are not.
While the usually do very well in understanding the ideas we are trying to
communicate through slang and idioms, I prefer to try to elimate the slang
in deference to them ane for the sake of clarity.
