Welcome to the list paool...Although I'd hardly call it new, new location
yes, new list, not a chance.

I don't know if I'd call a lot of the reluctance to use Deckers around
here fear of complex rules (or lack of rules). I think VR2.0 is more than
effective in explaining actions on the matrix, and in some cases, almost
too cumbersome.

For the group I GM, not including a decker (and delegating any decker
responsibilities to an NPC) are more a matter of convenience. There is
nothing more boring than to have a Decker go into the matrix and spend
upwards of an hour or so running the matrix while the rest of the team
twiddles their thumbs. In my experience, deckers are so interested in not
only the task at hand, but grabbing that "paydata" as well that having a
decker PC just makes the game move too slowly. I know it's not just my
style of GMing too, it has happened in almost every SR game I've become
involved in as a PC as well.

I forget who, but somebody pointed out that in every run on the matrix
for a decker only a few seconds in real time pass by. While the at least
mages in astral space and riggers are using the same combat turn and
actions that the rest of the team are using.
