On Tue, 16 Mar 1999, thus did Justin write:
>Well, how did Magicians get here? The same thing
>could happen on another world with a similar mana
>cycle. And I haven't seen anything that says
>Magician's can't travel in space. Specifically,
>they can't Astrally Project beyond our atmosphere
>nor can they use magic in space. That doesn't
>mean they can't hop on the space shuttle like
>anyone else.

Just wondering: If a *shaman* were forcibly removed from Earth and had to live on some
other world, wouldn't he permanently lose his connection to his totem? The totems are so
tightly woven into the beliefs and cultures of people on Earth. A journey offworld would
have to be a psychological and spiritual shock, at the very least! He might even go postal
or become suicidal.

Perhaps if the shaman were part of a tribe or a group with similar beliefs, then his totem
connection might still exist.

A mage, on the other hand, would certainly be upset about not being able to cast spells or
go astral, but he wouldn't face the spiritual crisis that a shaman would.

"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
"I think so, Brain, but why would anyone want to see Snow White and the Seven
Samurai?"
