I have the same 'problem', but I wouldn't really call it a problem. I
just let them go ahead with it, but in critical situation I do take time
into account.

fi. one day the group broke into a house for some specific information
and an alarm went off. Quite easily they located the necessary data,
but some of them wanted to loot the complete house, which had some
valuable assets. I just reminded them of the alarm and the others of
the team dragged the scavengers out of there. They got out just in time
before LoneStar arrived, otherwise they would have had some loot, but
would have probably ended up in jail.

In regards to weapons I offer very low value for them when they try to
sell a second-hand, found weapon, because it can not really be trusted
due to its unknown origin. Fencers would be sceptic for this and I
never let them have more than half the catalog price of the item.

I am quite carefull in handing out security or military armor, because
they should have a good reason on how to acquire it (don't know if this
is the proper way to go?). Therefor I will let them have any such armor
they can loot or find.

Don't think you aren't a good GM or that yo don't pay them enough
because they start looting. IMHO it also depends on the character's
backgrounnd. If he used to live on the streets, then he will have the
habit of grabing anything he can get his hands on. This probably the
way he survived upto now and how he was able to become a runner.

I don't consider myself a good GM either, but I am always working on it.
I learn new things every day and I must admit that this mailinglist
helps me a lot in this, thanks to all of you out there.
