In a direct, one to one, kind of fight. The Totem. However, MitS introduces
the concepts of "Avatars", and those might be a defeatable force (given all
the right circumstances...for instance, the situation in the first trilogy
(Secrets of Power). IMO, that "Spider" was an Avatar of *SPIDER*, and not
Spider itself. And, when it mentions that *SPIDER* is diminished more, that
is true. One of the Avatars is no longer able to interact in a directly
manipulatable manner.

IMO, NO!!! This opens the door to massive game play abuse. Reminds me of
the terrible rule in AD$D concerning "Divine Intervention" and a nasty
situation involving "Ares" and a Priest of Athena who had *WAY* to much time
on his hands....

See above, and you might have a different view of the activities in those
books.
