Subject: Astral Projection through living things?
Date: Thu, 8 Jul 1999 17:18:47 -0500 (CDT)
I've been going through the revisions to magic in SR3, and it seems to
indicate that Astrally Projecting Magicians can pass through living
organisms at will. Am I reading this right?

Used to be, in SRII, Astrally Projecting magicians were bounded by living
things. They couldn't pass through people, plants, animals, etc. So as a
method of magical security (before FAB or before it became common, or at
least for those who couldn't afford the expense of FAB), corps could grow
large amounts of ivy on their walls to keep out astral "peekers."

Now, MitS has the screaming leeches as a form of Astral security, and
mundanes get that creepy/cold feeling when mages pass though them on the
astral plane.

Do I have this right? Is ivy completely useless as an astral wall now, as
living things don't act as barriers, only awakened or astrally active
beings? Are the early strains of FAB useless as well?

Just trying to adjust to the new system.

Thanks for your help,
Andy
