State Of The Art.
Within Shadowrun, a rules system (from SRC) whereby old technology (gear)
fails to perform at the same level compared to a constant, unchanging
reference point (e.g., human norm). This is intended to simulate the fact
that, in the real world, technology advances. Old technology, while still
working at normal levels compared to a constant reference, is not longer
competitive against new technology.
The concept is OK, but the rules execution is somewhat lacking.
