WHAT? How on *earth* can you say that? Druids? Celtic mythology? Wiccan-model
witchcraft?
And the people of Europe are still the same people who've always controlled
that land, regardless of what name they may give to their current set of
tribes. It has had no reason to rise up and protest.

Thwap! Wrong - building a Christian church over a pagan temple was desecration
of the worst kind for the pagans. Their temples were burnt, and the churches built
over them to emphasis the triumph of the Nazarene over the Earth Gods...
Which is worse, I ask you: your sacred site being destroyed, or your sacred site being
destroyed, and the destroyer building a temple of their *own* over it?
