I haven't considered the SSC to be an important sourcebook since SR2 was
put out and all the eq stats made their way into their or into Fields of
Fire. :]

To be honest, this is a really well beaten thread. SR3 is of course a must.

VR2.0 is a must if you want to use deckers in any heavy cpacity, but be
sure to learn the core Decking rules from SR3 FIRST. It'll make it a lot
easier to wade through VR2 and find the info you need.

Rigger 2 is a must for Riggers.

Magic in the Shadows is also almost a must, becuase if tehre's no mages,
shamans, or whatever in the group, whya re you playing SR and not
Cyberpunk? :] Just kidding. But seriously, this is a good book if you
have magical characters.

Fields of Fire and the Street Samurai Catalog (the gun part) are being
replaced with Cannon Companion at some point. Fields of Fire isn;t a bad
buy, especially for the opening section which talks about professionalism
as a mercenary (and a Shadowrunner), and the gun stuff still works for SR3.
But in general, you really don't need it. Unless you really want the
players to have bigger better stronger guns right away.

Shadowtech never got updated to SR2, so is really out of date. It adn
Cybertechnology are getting updated in Man and Machine (Due out in...
September, I think). Bioware is possibly getting an overhaul, so
Shadowtech is really a waste of money now (Though once again, some of the
info is good), and Cybertechnology introduced lots of expensive and mostly
impossible to find cyberware (Move by Wire), evil nasty bad Cybermancy, and
a few misc. toys that are mostly inconsequential. Definately on my "Waita
nd see what M&M has" list.

Other than that, the rest is sourcebook material or adventure material, and
can be adapted or used as you see fit.
