You're actually dealing with a subject I know something about (playing a
ghoul, I'm infected with HMHVV-4, and I'm doing a little bit of research).

> What's the difference between HMHVV and HMHVV-2?

HMHVV-I affects all the meta-human types. Humans become vampires, elves
become banshee, orks become wendigos, trolls become dzoo-noo-qua, and
dwarves become goblins. Sasquatch are also affected by HMHVV, ecoming
bandersnatches (though some shadowtalk in Steve Kenson's non-canon "Bad
Blood" suggest that it might be HMHVV-II, since bandersnatches don't drain
Essence).

HMHVV-II is only known to affect trolls, transforming them to fomorians.
Might be what causes bandersnatch transformations, too. Also referred to as
Jarka-Criscione strain. Since fomorians don't drain life force (Essence),
it's believed that Jarka-Criscione might be a different, but related,
disease.

HMHVV-III is lethal to all meta-types but humans, whom it transforms into
nosferatu. Also called Bruckner-Langer strain.

HMHVV-IV causes ghouls across all five meta-types. Since ghouls also don't
drain Essence, this to might actually be a separate disease that is closely
related to HMHVV. Also called Kreiger syndrome or Kreiger strain.

More than you needed to know? <g>

Eeeeeewwwwww.
